Life right now (June 15th, 2011)
I'm telling you, I'm not sure about the boys. First there's the sprinkler issue. Levi will have nothing to do with them, and I have no idea why. He will doggy paddle around the pool in his awesome new floatie vest, but step into the sprinkler? No way.
Then there was our trip to the nature center last week. There is a place area that is just made for boys. Dirt hills, dump trucks, water, mud puddles... everything a little boy could ever want, and my permission to get as dirty as they could. The boys? Not having it. Not. at. all. They cried when they got dirt on their arms and legs, but wouldn't go to the spigot to wash it off, because it was surrounded by mud. WHAT??? Am I to blame for this somehow? What have I done wrong? The morning was saved when we found a creek with clear, cold, running water. They loved that. Even Levi, who won't walk through a sprinkler. Thank goodness.

For those of you who have expressed interest in the Maxi Dress tutorial, I'm planning on doing it, but I don't have the right fabric right now. I really like a cotton/rayon blend like the material I used for the first dress. As soon as I can get my hands on something similar I will get to work! In the meantime, I'm working on another dress tutorial that is kind of similar to the Maxi Dress, and I'm kind of stuck, but I'll figure it out. Heck, there's probably a tutorial out there already...

Ooh, I just had to come and check if your makeover was done yet :). I may be as excited as you are! And I think we went to that nature center when we lived in Nashville, Wyatt was a MESS and I'm pretty sure I had to throw all of his clothes away after, but he had fun!
JDaniel gets dirty enough for two people .
wonderful pics! I guess our kids already come with what they like set. my little girl is much of a boy when it comes to getting dirty and wet ;)
How funny!!
Made me laugh!
You haven't done anything wrong...kids are just weird.
Crazy. My three year old son is just like that. I completely thought it was just me, I try to be messy with him to show him it's okay. I guess maybe deep down I hate getting dirty and maybe he can tell. Who knows. That's for sharing, no I don't feel so weird.
Those pictures are just priceless! My kids are the same way. You just never know what they're going to love/hate.
Too funny! Nicole will stomp and tromp in mud but the second she actually realizes she is *dirty* the horror creeps in and we have a meltdown on our hands. It's not pretty.
I was thinking of just chanting 'max-i-dress' but I decided to just put on my big girl panties and draft my own. I had a stroke of genius (theoretically) and I'm going to use whatever bra I have that is the most insistent on showing (it might be a tough choice, nursing bras are all kind of flamboyant like that.) and use that to draft the pattern. Theoretically this will result in bra-free living and much frolicking. Possibly will just wind up with me throwing a hissy fit. Only time will tell.
