It's the New and Improved Creative Me Linky Party!

The Southern Intitute

Hello, everyone!  I did it... I decided to change things up a little bit here and I had a new button made for my linky party and changed the name just a tad.

Welcome to the Creative Me Linky Party at
The Southern Institute!

Now there is no confusion, this linky party is open all week long... not just on Mondays.  I had Lisa at My Little Buffalo create a button that coordinated with my header and other buttons (designed by her as well).  I love what she came up with!  So, if you'd like to replace the old button with the new button you can , but if not that's okay too... the old button should still link to The Southern Institute.

Let's get on with the party, shall we?  I thought I'd share something with you that I made last week.  The third graders at Abby's school gave all 75 teachers a New Year's goody bag on Friday.  All of the classes contributed healthy snacks and filled gift bags with them, then delivered them to the teachers' desks, were they would find them when they arrived to school on Friday morning.  I was responsible for decorating 13 bags.  As usual, I waited until the last minute to decorate them... i.e. the night before.  I thought I would play on the teaching theme by using chalkboard stickers and a chalkboard pen (my new favorite writing utensil!).  I found some quotes about teaching and wrote them on the fronts of the bags...

They aren't very fancy or elaborate, but I really liked the simple and clean look!  I love the red and black and white together, and I thought the quotes were really fun.  Plus they are reusable.  The chalk wipes off with a damp cloth. The teachers loved their goody bags!

This weeks featured blog link is Adrianne from Happy Hour Projects!  Adrianne is no stranger to The Southern Institute.  Do you remember the yarn ball pumpkin tutorial?  Last week she linked up this awesome New Year's Ever glass tile necklace.

I totally love this necklace!  I have got to get myself some glass tiles and make a few of these.  I think they would be so fun as gifts, don't you?  Thanks for linking up, Adrianne, and for sharing this great tutorial!

Okay, now it's your turn!  Just a few guidelines for linking up.  Please:
  1. Follow The Southern Institute and display the Creative Me Monday button somewhere in your post or on your blog.  The button html is at the top of the post.  Just copy and paste!
  2. Don't have anything new?  Show us something from your archives...old to you is new to us!
  3. You can link up as many things as you'd like, the more the better your chances of being the featured link next week!
  4. Visit at least two other blogs and leave some comment love.  We are a community that supports one another, right? Right!
  5. No shop links please.  You can link up a giveaway as long as it's attached to a project that you're linking up.
Don't forget to grab and proudly display the "featured" button if you're project has been in the featured spot on Creative Me Monday.
